1.10 Dealing with copyright (assignments and licences)

  1. Assignments

    Copyright ownership can be assigned to another or left to beneficiaries in a will.

    Assignment clauses are common in independent contractor agreements, especially where the contractor is creating copyright material to be used by the commissioner.

  2. Licences/Permissions

    Copyright can also be licensed. A licence is a form of permission. This means the copyright owner allows another person (or TAFE, for example) to use or reproduce the copyright work
