'ABC Pool': ABC's Online Media Space

Pool is an online community developed by ABC Radio National to faciliate the sharing of creative works amongst Pool members, ABC Producers and the public. It is easy to become a Pool member - all you need to do is register your details via the Pool website and a Pool profile will be created for you.

Through your profile, you can upload your creative works, including text, audio, image, video, website design and interactive media. You must choose a copyright licence for this content so other Pool members, ABC Producers and the public know what they can and cannot do with your creative work. Pool offers the full suite of standard Creative Commons licences for members to use.

Pool creates an environment where digital content can be easily shared, remixed and downloaded by members and the public. Through this, it aims to enhance the exchange of ideas and uncover opportunities for innovative teaching and learning processes. Ceative Commons licences are well suited for this purpose because they allow for the sharing and remixing of content while contributors retain copyright ownership and control over their works.

The ABC plans to begin releasing content from its archives into Pool for the public to use and remix in the near future.
